Yoga Tune Up®

Yoga Tune Up® is a mobility training that combines yoga therapy, self massage, and corrective exercises. In YTU classes students use high grip rubber balls for targeted self massage and trigger point release of high tension areas. Massaging deep into the fascia and using mobility exercises, student's learn to increase proprioception, or awareness of their body in space, which can aid in injury prevention, enhance performance and improve coordination and precision.

YTU helps to eradicate pain by identifying and addressing blind spots - areas of the body which are overused, misused or abused. It is a great tool for athletic recovery, improving posture, combating office and travel woes, carrying little ones or heavy items and everyday life.

Conditioning & Recovery

Athletic training often means moving and strengthening your body in repetitive movements, which are designed to improve performance in the short term, but which overtime can lead to body imbalances, injury and dysfunction.

YTU supports your body restore and repair tissues before during or after your training session, through:
  • Soft tissue conditioning  
  • Mobility and corrective exercises
  • Breathing mechanics
  • Increased fascial proprioception

Stress Relief & Pain

  • Poor posture and sitting for long hours at a desk can contribute to back, neck and shoulder pain, tightness in hips and leg muscles, carpal tunnel, plantar fascitis and other physical ailments. It can also affect breathing mechanics.
  • Carrying and lifting heavy bags can create body imbalances and affect posture which can also lead to pain. 
  • Stress can contribute to tension headaches, muscle and jaw tightness and affected sleep patterns.

Travel Woes

  • During travel sitting still in uncomfortable seats can contribute to shoulder, hip and foot pain and stiffness
  • In air travel our bodies become dehydrated and stiff due to the circulating air and time changes, which even may affect our sleeping habits and digestive system
